Types of dentures
We offer several types of denture to suit different situations. Every one is custom-made in a specialist lab to match your natural teeth and gum tone.
Why choose dentures?
Modern dentures are a world away from the bulky, obvious sets of the past. Today's materials and techniques produce a comfortable, natural-looking result you can wear with confidence.
How your dentures are made
The process usually takes three to four appointments over a few weeks, giving us time to get the fit, bite and appearance just right before the final denture is delivered.
We examine your mouth, discuss the type of denture that suits your situation and explain exactly what to expect. Any remaining teeth that need attention are treated first.
We take detailed moulds of your gums and any remaining teeth. These are sent to the lab so your denture is crafted to the exact shape of your mouth.
Before the final denture is made, you try a wax version so we can check the bite, tooth position and appearance. This is your chance to request any changes before we proceed.
The finished denture is fitted and checked for comfort, appearance and bite. We make any final adjustments and show you how to insert, remove and care for it properly.
We schedule a follow-up to check how you're settling in. It's normal for new dentures to need small adjustments as your gums adapt over the first few weeks.

Frequently asked questions
Clear answers to the questions we hear most often about dentures.
Most people adjust within a few weeks. Your mouth needs time to adapt to the new shape, and speaking and eating may feel slightly different at first. It gets easier quickly, and we're here to make adjustments if anything feels uncomfortable.
Modern dentures are designed to look natural. The teeth are colour-matched and the gum work mimics natural tissue tones and textures. A well-made denture is very difficult to spot.
We recommend removing them at night to give your gums a chance to rest and to reduce the risk of irritation or infection. Soak them in a cleaning solution overnight to keep them fresh and hygienic.
You can eat most foods once you've adjusted. Start with softer foods and work up to firmer textures as your confidence grows. Very hard or very sticky foods are best avoided, but day-to-day meals shouldn't be a problem.
Brush them daily with a soft denture brush and rinse after meals. Soak overnight in a denture-cleaning solution. Avoid boiling water, which can warp the acrylic. Keep up with regular check-ups so we can check the fit and condition.
The cost depends on the type of denture and the number of teeth being replaced. After your consultation we'll provide a clear, itemised quote with no hidden fees. Finance options are available to help spread the cost.
